Dinner Club Lives - New Rules
I knew there would be a good reason that I didn't delete this blog...after a long break Dinner Club is back on. Of course, since the reason for the break was the spawning of a wee one, and that wee one is still a major focus of my time and attention, I need to make some changes to the club this time around. I hope it will still be fun for everyone and I stay sane.
Here are the changes...
Dinner Club will happen every other month.
We'll still have it on a weeknight, probably Thursdays.
No more voting.
Trying to be democratic takes a lot of time and energy. (Must be why "W" gave up on it too.) I'm just going to pick the place each time. If you have someplace you'd like to try do let me know...I'm not at total tyrant.
That's pretty much it. Otherwise things will be the same. We'll meet and eat and chat and laugh. Hopefully we'll make fun new memories to continue in the theme of stuff like:
- Gut busting chili-everything from Mike's
- Crawfish from the chef that we had no idea how to eat at La Louisiana...and laughing 'till we cried
- Rotating chairs at FareStart
- A custom Greek feast at Panos
- Cell phone calls across Thaiku asking "where the hell are you?"..."behind the pillar on your right."
Here's a rundown of all the places we ate during our last tour of Dinner Club:
Kingfish Cafe, Mike's Chili Parlor, Saito's Japanese Cafe and Bar, Thaiku, Barking Frog, El Camino's, La Louisana, 3 Pig Barbeque, FareStart, Brown Bag Cafe, Mama Melina, Luau Polynesian Café, Panos, Etta’s, potluck at Chris and Dan’s, Hattie's Hat, Marjorie’s
For more Dinner Club history you can read back through past postings. We can also use this space to post up our favorite foodie finds. Feel free to send them to me or I can give you contributor rights to the blog.
Remember...it's OK to Eat and Tell!!
